How RS9 points are shaped

This is the only note in the set that states the shape of a fantasy side. Eleven players. A budget of 100 credits. A captain whose points are doubled. A vice-captain whose points are multiplied by 1.5. Anything finer lives on the sheet inside the app.

If the card in your build prints a different squad size or a different budget, believe the card and mail the sentence to rs9support@email.com so this note can be corrected. Do not average the two numbers and play the average.

Eleven means eleven

The side is eleven human players from the match, not a feeling about the match and not a twelfth name you mention to friends. The form should refuse to lock until eleven legal picks are in. If it locks earlier, you are not on the screen you think you are. Back up and read the fixture name.

Roles slice the eleven. The room will say how many wicket-keepers, batters, all-rounders, and bowlers you may carry. Those limits are part of the shape even though this note does not invent a minimum the card might not use. Read the counters on the selection screen. They are the rule for that room.

One hundred credits

The budget on this note is 100 credits. Each player has a price in that budget. You cannot overspend and then apologise. The screen will block the side. Prices are not printed here because they move with form and with the room, and a copied price becomes a trap.

A credit is not a point. Spending 10 credits does not award 10 points. It only consumes budget. People mix the two words because both are numbers next to a name. Keep them apart: credits before the match, points after the balls are bowled.

The captain is 2x

Take the points the sheet gives your captain and double them. If a captain scores P points under the sheet, the side is credited 2P from that player. The doubling is the whole of the captain rule this site will state. It is not a bonus on top of a second, hidden multiplier.

Work a plain example so the arithmetic is boring, which is what you want. Suppose the sheet, whatever its tariff, ends the night with 40 points beside that player. The captain contribution is 80. Suppose the night ends at 0 because the player did not take the field. The captain contribution is 0. Doubling does not invent a score the sheet withheld.

The vice-captain is 1.5x

The vice-captain is multiplied by one and a half, not by two. A player on 40 points contributes 60 as vice-captain. The same player on 0 contributes 0. People remember the captain and forget the half. The half is why the vice-captain is not a spare captain.

You do not get both multipliers on one player. One mark is captain. One mark is vice-captain. Two different names. If the screen lets you star the same name twice, you have found a bug or you have misread an icon. Look again before you lock.

What this note will not tariff

A run, a wicket, a catch, a maiden, a duck, and a penalty are real events. The number of points beside each event belongs to the in-app sheet for that match. Printing a table from memory, or from another fantasy brand, would dress a guess as a rule. This site will not do it. Open the sheet. If a line shows a minus, the minus is real for that sheet.

Negative points, if the sheet has them, are not a moral judgment. They are arithmetic. A captain mark doubles a minus the same way it doubles a plus. That is a reason to think before you captain a player who can both shine and collapse, not a reason to avoid every bowler.

Replacements and announcements

If a player in your eleven does not start, the room's replacement rule decides whether you score a zero or inherit a substitute. The rule is in the room, and it can differ when a league uses an impact player. This note cannot promise you the points of someone who was never in your eleven. Read the announcement and the room help on the day.

Uncapped and capped players are not given a special tariff here. If the sheet treats them differently, the sheet will say so next to the event. Your job on this page is only to know the shape so the sheet has something to multiply.

Checking a result

After the match, the side total should equal the sum of the eleven, with the captain already doubled and the vice-captain already at one and a half. If you re-double a number the screen has already doubled, you will think the app shorted you. Read the column headings before you add.

A tie on total points is settled by the room, often by a published order of tie-breakers. This note does not invent the order. Look at the prize list and the help text. Two sides on the same total are not a malfunction until the room's own rule says they are.

That is the shape: eleven, 100 credits, captain at 2x, vice-captain at 1.5x, and a sheet you read instead of memorising. The fee, as always, is on the card. Paid rooms are for adults and are not offered in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Telangana, Nagaland, or Sikkim.

A second example, so the half is obvious

Take a vice-captain the sheet scores at 20. One and a half times 20 is 30. Take a captain the sheet scores at 20. Double is 40. The captain is ahead by 10 in this tiny example, not by a second life. If you expected the vice-captain to land near the captain, you have remembered the rule. If you expected the vice-captain to land at 40 as well, you have given both players the captain mark in your head. The screen will not.

Now put a zero on both, because neither started. Both contributions are zero. The rest of the eleven still score whatever the sheet gives them. A bad captain mark does not erase the other nine. It only wastes the multiplier. That is the entire tragedy available from the rule, and it is enough.

Reading the sheet without adopting a foreign tariff

Open the event list inside the app once, on a match you are not entering, so the first time you see a catch or a duck is not while a fee is live. Notice whether the sheet shows whole numbers. Notice whether a bonus sits on a separate line. Do not copy the numbers into this website and do not copy them from a rival's table into the app. The sheet you are looking at is the one that will add the total.

If a friend quotes a tariff that does not match the line you see, your friend is on a different product or an old season. Believe the line. Mail us only if this note's shape — eleven, 100 credits, 2x, 1.5x — is contradicted by the screen. A disagreement about a catch is not a disagreement with this note. It is a disagreement with a memory.

If you remember only four fragments, make them these: eleven players, a budget of 100 credits, a captain doubled, a vice-captain at one and a half. Forget any fifth fragment you imported from another app. The sheet will supply the events. You supply the shape. The card supplies the fee. Three documents, three jobs, and none of them is a promise that the shape will win.
