Fixture, eleven, captain, then lock

A side is a sequence, not a hunch you type at the end. This note keeps the sequence in one place: the fixture, the eleven, the captain, the lock. Multipliers are defined on the points page. Fees are defined on the card.

Do the steps in order even when you think you already know the match. The order is what catches a fee spent on the wrong fixture, which is a more common mistake than a clever captain pick.

The fixture

Open the match you mean. Read the two team names and the start time out loud if you are tired. A card for the early game and a card for the late game can share a colour and a tournament name. The time and the names are the difference. If you join the wrong one, the edit tools of the right one will not move your fee.

Read the fee and the prize list before you admire a player. Check the contest card. If the prize list is missing, stop. If the fee is more than you decided this morning, stop. The rest of the steps are for a card you have already accepted.

The eleven

You fill eleven players from the squads the room allows, inside the credit cap the room states. The points page is where this site writes the cap as 100 credits and the squad size as eleven. If the card prints a different cap, the card wins and that page should be corrected. Until you see a difference, build to those two numbers.

Roles exist so a side is not eleven batters. A typical sheet asks for a wicket-keeper, batters, all-rounders, and bowlers, with minimums and maximums. Read the minimums on the card. A side the screen will not accept is not a bold side. It is an unfinished form, and an unfinished form should not be sitting on a paid button.

Prefer players who are in the official eleven. A famous name on the bench scores nothing. Wait for the team sheet when the card gives you time. If you will not have that time, you are back to the planning note: do not enter.

Credits, said only as a budget

Credits are a budget, not a rating of how much you like a player. Spending the whole budget on three names and filling the rest with the cheapest legal options is a shape. It is sometimes what the sheet forces. It is not automatically clever. Look at whether the cheap names are actually playing.

This note does not print a price list. Prices move, and a copied price from another app is worse than no price. Read the number next to the player inside the room.

Captain and vice-captain

You will mark one captain and one vice-captain. The points page says the captain's score is doubled and the vice-captain's is multiplied by one and a half. The choice is still a cricket choice: who is likely to be in the game long enough for the multiplier to matter. A captain who does not play is a multiplier on zero.

Do not let a headline from a previous match appoint the captain by itself. The current fixture, the role, and the official eleven outrank last week's score. If two players are close in your mind, the one who bowls and bats has more ways to be on the field. That is a consideration, not a rule that always wins.

Lock

Lock is the time after which the side stands. It is printed on the card, and it is often near the start of the match, not at a time this note can freeze. Set a reminder for earlier than that if you still need the official eleven. After lock, wishing is not an edit.

Review once before you confirm: right fixture, eleven accepted by the form, captain and vice-captain marked, fee still the fee you agreed. Then stop looking at other people's screenshots. Their side is not a correction of yours.

After the match starts

The room scores from the match. You do not click points onto players. If a number looks wrong, compare it with the in-app sheet before you assume a bug. The sheet, not a forum, is the tariff. This site deliberately does not reprint a run-by-run table it might get wrong.

When the room ends, read the result and stop. A second room entered because the first one hurt is the habit the responsible-play note is about. The sequence above is for a prepared card. It is not a reason to open another one tonight.

A short recap

  1. Choose the fixture and read the fee.
  2. Fill eleven inside the credit cap and the role minimums.
  3. Mark a captain and a vice-captain who are actually playing.
  4. Lock before the stated time, after the official eleven if you can.

Paid play is for adults, and it is refused in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Odisha, Telangana, Nagaland, and Sikkim. The sequence does not apply where the room should not be offered. If it does apply, do it once, carefully, on one card.

A worked pass, without naming a player

Suppose the card is the evening match, the fee is the one you already accepted, and the official elevens are out. You filter to players who are named to start. You fill the role minimums first, so you are not hunting for a wicket-keeper at the end with no credits left. You then spend the remaining budget on the roles you still need, not on a fifth batter the form will reject. You mark a captain who is in the side and a vice-captain who is a different person. You read the fixture name again. Then you lock.

That pass does not mention a single name because a name would be a tip, and this note is a procedure. If your pass cannot be described without a name you copied from someone else, you have not done the pass. You have pasted. Pasting is faster. It is also how a bench player ends up wearing your captain mark.

Edits, and the last honest minute

If the card allows edits until lock, the last honest minute is the minute you still understand the change. Swapping four players because a graphic flashed is not an edit. It is a new side built in a hurry. Prefer one swap you can explain: a player ruled out, replaced by the one you would have picked had you known. If you cannot name the reason, leave the side. A messy edit at the bell is worse than a calm side that is slightly out of date.

If the card does not allow edits, the procedure collapses to a single moment. Do not enter until the eleven is out, or accept the risk in words you could say to a friend: I am paying before the sheet. If you will not say that sentence, you are not accepting the risk. Close the card.

After you confirm

Stop opening other rooms in the same match to see if a different fee feels luckier. The side is built. Another fee does not improve the reading you already did. It only repeats it at a second price. Go and watch the match, or go and do something else. The points will arrive without your supervision.

If you want a last check that is not a new opinion, use this list and no other. Right match. Fee accepted. Eleven accepted by the form. Captain and vice-captain are two different players who are in the official side. Lock time still ahead. Then confirm, or do not. There is no sixth item. A sixth item is usually someone else's player, and that is how the procedure gets replaced by a tip.

After confirm, leave the selection screen. Staring at it does not add a credit back and does not change a lock. The match will score the side you submitted. Your remaining job is to have submitted the one you meant. If a doubt appears after lock, write it down for next time. Do not spend a second fee tonight to soothe it. The procedure ends at one confirmed side, not at a feeling of certainty. One side is the whole job for that fixture alone now.
